Hey there Marvel fans, it seems like WandaVision Episode 8 has changed the game after Endgame. All in all, this is WandaVision’s biggest episode to date, and it’s a must-see for any fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only we got to see the past of Wanda and his family including his brother Pietro, but how the old black and white sitcom was set up. In addition, and the best thing about this episode was how it interlinked all episodes and made all sense that clears our many doubts. Here’s how it wrapped up, and what remains to be seen in the season finale next week.
Agatha defeating Witches
Who’s Agatha after all?
The year is 1693 in the town of Salem, Massachusetts, where a coven of witches punishes Agatha for her crimes.
According to her mother in WandaVision, Evanora:
Agatha betrayed them by seeking knowledge that was forbidden and delved into dark magic, breaking the coven’s rules.
They combined their powers to defeat her, but all goes in vain as Agatha is far too strong that not only she defeated all witches
but also took their powers that made her way too stronger than ever.
Not only it defines Agatha and what she wanted from Wanda.
But I think it’s something else that we may see in the next episode of WandaVision.
She’s hungry for powers and you may have seen her power is unmatched to the powers of Wanda.
That’s why her presence and doings inside Westview make all sense.
Likewise, as she wanna do everything to extract Wanda’s power inside her which might make her the strongest being on the Earth.
But after finishing it, many questions might have arrived on how she survived since she got powers of those witches in 1693? Or What she may be doing during all these years?
All similar questions will be answered in the next episode of WandaVision.
Does Wanda create Hex?
In wandaVision episode 8, so, by the end of the episode, we all witness how Wanda met S.W.O.R.D. and how all black and white sitcoms got started.
At the end, we too witnessed what was S.W.O.R.D. director intentions with Visions remains part and concentrating on him inside the Westview.
Also, she drives off to Westview, New Jersey, which, at the time, was a normal town with plenty of unassuming residents whom viewers have grown quite familiar with.
Wanda arrives at the foundation of a house with the deed to the property she and Vision own
Indicating they would’ve built their forever home in that spot.
While in grief, on losing everything that loved her, she turned the whole town into a 1950’s sitcoms set.
This too concludes that she was the one who was responsible for Hex’s creation.
In addition, now the most shocking part of the episode reveals something we never expected to see.
Likewise, in the fourth episode, Director Tyler Hayward told Monica on how Wanda stole Vision’s body from S.W.O.R.D headquarters.
But this episode clarified us that Hayward was lying, she never stole it instead she went back to the town after seeing Vision for the last time.
Also, this was the moment where one of our questions got answered about something messy with Hayward and he wanted to do something with Vision.
Moreover, and that plan of doing something with Vision was revealed in the post credit scene.
Wanna know what was that?? Something really exciting in WandaVision ??
Then read more below to know what Director Hayward’s intention was.
Is this the evil one?
It’s now like a tradition for MCU to have a post credit scene at the end of movies. Now they are continuing this tradition to surprise fans in series too.
This time in the post credit scene, if we shift our focus from Wanda
And Agatha, we had a glimpse of Hayward and S.W.O.R.D agent trying to reveal something creepy.
Using the remains of Vision, Hayward and his team have brought him back online, but now with white colour scheme.
Moreover, he doesn’t speak or do much of anything aside from open his piercing blue eyes and become acquainted with his new form.
Wanda and her love for sitcoms
How Wanda’s past connected to her powers?
In knowing how Wanda created Hex, and started all chaos she made, Agatha made Wanda relive her childhood. We saw Wanda with her family.
In WandaVision Episode 8, it was an emotional journey of Wanda throughout her memories – sort of MCU style to tribute. This is your life. Sokovia is the first stop, to witness the death of Wanda’s parents.
During this time, they then jump to her time as a HYDRA test subject
Then the rough time frame between Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War, before winding up in Westview, pre-Hex.
Aside from Wanda herself, the throughline that runs along each of these flashbacks is the persistent presence of classic television and Wanda’s relationship to it in WandaVision.
Fight in the Westview
In WandaVision epusode 9, all the residents of Westview started blaming Wanda for their condition. Wanda tried to convince them they all are in a better place but they all are under the control of Agatha. There was extreme pressure by all the residents over Wanda about ‘Let them Go’ to their home. Wanda then finds it necessary to do this for the happiness of the residents of Westview. She started destroying her imaginary Westview but as she was doing it, her family-Vision, Tommy, and Billy are getting destroyed as they part of Virtual Westview created by Wanda.
She has to choose between the two ‘Her Family’ and ‘Residents of Westview’. At the last moment, she realized that both her child and Vision started dying. So, she stooped.
Last fight of Wanda Vision Episode 9
Then, there’s a crucial fight between Wanda and Agatha. And this time Wanda trapped Agatha and gave her all powers in her radar. But, Wanda knew she could use only his power in her own magical radar. Wanda took over all the power from Agatha and defeated her. And on the other side, Vision of Westview was fighting with White Vision. Vision asked him why he is doing so?
White Vision replied they program him to destroy the Vision. But Vision of Westview convinced him to the reality that he is not the real Vision. He is hypothetical. Then he visualizes the White Vision about the death of Vision in Endgame. After remembering the past, White Vision said, “he is Vision” and he flew away from the Westview.
We also see that Tommy, Billy and Captain Monica Rambeau saved themselves and the military.
Meeting their destinies
The series ends with Wanda releasing Westview and letting her family go – Vision, Tommy, and Billy all vanish with the illusion. She also forces Agatha to resume her role as nosy neighbor Agnes, before leaving for a life of apparent solitude.
The WandaVision season’s finale had two post-credit scenes. One was a mid-credit moment and the other coming after the credits rolled. In the mid-credit scene of WandaVision episode 9.
Monica Rambeau appears on the cleanup of Westview and arrests SWORD’s Tyler Hayward.
After that, a random agent pulls Monica aside and tells Monica that they are looking for her in the local movie theatre. The agent reveals that about her soon that she is a Skrull and was sent here by an old friend of Monica’s mother.
The second post-credit scene appears at the edge moments of Wanda Vision episode 9. The scene opens up at a picturesque mountain range which looks far from civilization.
We see Wanda sitting in normal clothes and turning around to refill her mug from the kettle. But here afterward, we got a glimpse of the Scarlet Witch who is floating in the air reading the same thing that Agatha Harkness was reading to spell some spells.
This may be the part where Wanda unleashed her all powers, learned about them and used them rightly in the future.
The scene has increased the curiosity among the fans about Wanda being able to clone herself or her mind.
However, the interesting part of this scene is she then hears the screams of her twin boys Tommy and Billy as they are pleading for help.
What could this mean? Will they both appear again in Doctor Strange 2?
And where Vision goes after having all memories?
- Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch
- Paul Bettany as Vision and The Vision
- Debra Jo Rupp as Sharon Davis
- Fred Melamed as Todd Davis
- Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness
- Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau
